Who Is Vlaakith?
Vlaakith is the Githyanki Queen. Spending any time with Lae'zel at all, you will learn a ton about the Githyanki and their queen. You will meet Vlaakith for yourself when you head to the Githyanki Creche in Act 1. Vlaakith will tell you that she is looking for the Artefact and will say that she is able to help you and your companions out with your little Mind Flayer situation. However, she first needs you to give her the person within the Artefact. So, naturally, you're probably wondering if you should trust her.
Moments Where Vlaakith Will Try To Recruit You
There are a few moments where you are going to have to decide whether you trust this Githyanki. Here's a rundown of them all.
Should You Trust Vlaakith In The Creche?
When you first meet Vlaakith, she is going to want you to hand over the Artefact. It turns out, she is the one that the Artefact was originally stolen from. At this moment, you have two options.
- You trust her and go inside to kill the Dream Visitor
- You tell her no
If you go inside, your Dream Visitor will beg you to trust them. If you go against them and side with Vlaakith, the Dream Visitor will heal themselves and reprimand you for falling for Vlaakith's lies. If you side with your Dream Visitor, you will need to fight your way out of the Githyanki Creche. If you pick the second option and tell Vlaakith no, she will kill you on the spot and your journey will end.
If you side with the Dream Visitor, you can explain to Lae'zel why you did, and she will stay with your party.
Should You Trust Vlaakith In Act 3?
The Githyanki Queen will appear to you again and ask for your help in Act 3. She will tell you that she desperately needs the person inside the Artefact. At this point, you know that she is referring to Prince Orpheus and not The Emperor. This once again leads to two choices:
- You can help her get to Orpheus
- You can tell her no
If you tell Vlaakith you will help her, you will seal Kith'rak Voss's, Lae'zel's, and Prince Orpheus's fates. These three will be destroyed by Vlaakith. If you tell her no, you can free Orpheus and put an end to Vlaakith's reign of terror.
Should You Trust Vlaakith?
In the end, the answer is an astonishing no. If you trust her, you will only end up condemning Lae'zel and other Githyanki to a cruel fate. Vlaakith does not care about what is happening in Faerun. All she cares about is keeping her power, and she will use you to do that. If you side with her, you will only bring about ruin and heartache.
